Seachem Onyx Sand Planted Aquarium Substrate 3.5kg/7.7lbs
Onyx Sand™ is a naturally dark gray sand that perfectly complements and enhances the appearance of any aquarium. It supports optimal KH levels for freshwater planted aquariums. Although ideally suited to planted aquaria, it may be used in any aquarium environment. Onyx Sand™ is most effective when used alone as an integral substrate bed, but it may be mixed with other gravels. Gravel modifiers such as laterite are not necessary. Onyx Sand™ is not chemically coated or treated, and as a carbonate rich sand, it has a slight buffering capacity that may raise pH by 0.1 - 0.5 pH units (depending on source water characteristics). Onyx Sand™ is good for the life of the aquarium and need not be replaced.

"How much gravel do I need for a 25 Gallon fish tank?"
Generally speaking, around 1 pound of substrate per gallon of water for 1" depth is what you want to go for.
If you need less we sell 5 and 10 pound increments!

As a typical recommentdation,
with fish-keepers using a range of 1" to 2.5" for a fish-only tank. For a planted tank, you'll need an additional 1" nutrient layer below the sand or gravel

This media is completely inert and won’t release any harmful substances in an aquarium. In general, it is as sharp as any other sand, as hardness is important not sharp edges. It will not hurt your bottom-dwelling fish. In conclusion, the Black Fine sand is completely safe for fish tank use.
Recommend Multiple rinse cycles to material
before using
to remove any dust or debris.
