Hertel Jacob & Co HJ&Co
The Hertel, Jacob & Co. made some of the finest Bavarian porcelain before WWII. Their workmanship is said to be comparable to Rosenthal of Bavaria.
Rare Philippe Deshoulieres Caraibes / Tropical Island 16" Porcelain Platter with gold rim and beautiful gold accents on platter.
The platter was produced by the Limoges company founded in 1826 which continues to produce some of the world's finest porcelain.
The platter is beautifully executed in Deshoulieres' "Caraibes" / Tropical Island pattern which shows scenes from island life in the Caribbean and Maldives. The folk art inspired design shows rich color and fine detail to the spread tree branches covering the upper half and islanders over the lower half.
The large oval platter has a great presence measuring 16" long, 11" wide and 1.5" deep. The back bears the "PORCELAINE DE LIMOGES FRANCE" green stamp, and "Caraibes" "PHILIPPE DESHOULIERES" mark.
The platter is in excellent condition with no damage or noted wear, it appears unused and gently stored. This enchanting platter would make a great addition to any Deshoulieres Caraibes china service.

no noticeable utensil marks, cracks, chips or crazing.
The platter will be carefully packaged and sent via USPS Priority Mail.
